The Kingston School of Art fashion show
The class of 2022 of twenty undergraduate students of the prestigious Kingston School of Art , led by course leader David Frizzell, paraded on June 14 in the spaces of London Scottish House's Drill Hall in Westminster. Also in this case there were various issues addressed by the designers, from cultural identity to modular clothing, passing through the role of sportswear in defining queer identity. Among the collections proposed, those of Amy Harrington stand out, who has mixed knitwear with elements of activewear such as nylon and drawstring; the technical and futuristic outerwear in shades of green by Emily Clarke; the contrast between the military world of bomber jackets and the feminine ruffles of Hannah Vinluan's looks; and again, always on the subject of contrasts, the unstructured waistcoats obtained from double-breasted blazers combined with long slip dresses by Kyra Ellis Edwards; the accumulation of straps and pockets of Ben Davis' utilitarian-inspired proposals; Marcel Dominguez's reimagined cut-out sports uniforms and Meerim Mamatova's reworking of traditional Kyrgyzstan clothing.
